First the Natural…

I love learning about the natural things of the Bible being manifested in the Spiritual. I had not heard of this concept until 6 years ago. It has opened up so much knowledge and revelation about the Word. I’d love to share these thoughts with you.

“But it is not the spiritual that is first but the natural, and then the spiritual.” I Corinthians 15:46

This applies to the simplest things like:
We are born first in the natural sense, and then we later (hopefully) experience a spiritual birth and become born again.

Then it also applies to Biblical concepts like:
The Israelites were physically brought out of the bondage of Egyptian slavery, whereas we are spiritually brought out of the bondage of slavery to sin.

How about this:
In Noah’s day, souls were saved out of the waters of the flood. As Christians we are saved through the water of baptism. “In the ark a few people, only eight souls, were saved through the water. And this water symbolizes the baptism that now saves you–not the removal of dirt from the body, but the pledge of a clear conscience toward God.” 1 Peter 3:21

When you start digging, these types and shadows are numerous throughout scripture. It is fascinating how it is all interwoven throughout His Word.
